Samuel Winstead VI born September 20, 1801 in Tennessee, and died October 06, 1861 in Bedford County, Tennessee. He married Fanny Ann Unknown. She was born January 26, 1804, and died April 03, 1871 in Bedford Co., TN.

Notes for Nancy Carol Winstead:
Nancy died in Tennessee a few short months after giving birth to her 11th child. Her older sons were
gone to the Civil War and she was buried in an unmarked grave. She has been given a memorial on her
husbands stone at the Old Pilot Grove Cemetary in Pilot Grove, Grayson Co, TX.

As in all families after a couple of generations there are certain facial characteristics that continue to show up.  That applies in my Ownby 1st cousins and now in their grandchildren.  A couple of years ago I made contact with a distant Ownby cousin and a distant Winstead cousin.  Both are several generations removed from me and my family.  They lived in the same town (and actually went to church together) but were not kin to each other, but were both kin to me.  Darrell and I travelled to Nashville to meet with them and when I walked into the restaurant, I didn't need introductions to know who was who because they looke just like two of my uncles sitting there.

Now we know which facial characteristic belong to which family (although there are still some mysteries in the family)

Below is a chart I made.  One the left is my uncle Watt.  In the center is Bill Winstead and on the right is Ebb Ferguson.  All three are descended from Samuel Winstead III.
