"The State of Texas
County of Anderson:
To all whom it may concern, that I Thomas Hudson of the State of Texas and County Aforesaid being
of sound and deposing mind well knowing the uncertainty of life but cetain of death and being
lawfully possesed of sundry property both real and personal and being desirous of making provisions
for the protection and distrabution of the same after my death do make and subscribe to the following
as my last will and testament. ????: first I desire thet the probate court have no control of any Estate
further than the Porbating and registration of this my will, and registration of the inventory of said
Estate. I further make and appoint my two sons G W and John T Hudson my legal executors to this
my will. The said G W Hudson being of mature age and the other John T Hudson being a minor, and
should I die before he arrives at maturity then the said G W Hudson shall proceed alone to carry out
the will until the said John T Hudson shall be qualified when they shall and jointly but should the said
G W Hudson die before the said John T Hudson is qualified then and executor protem shall be chosen.
For the love and affection I have for my wife Sarah Hudson I will and bequeath unto her during her
natural life or widowhood all my said estate of every kind both real and personal but should she marry
again then my executors shall proceed to give off to her one (?) or a child's part and her right shall
cease to the remainder, and at the death of my wife Sarah the share allotted her together with the entire
Estate shall be equally divided between her bodily heirs to have and share alike.
And furthermore, should my said executors G W and John T Hudson come to the conclusion that it
would be to the interest of the estate, they shall have full power to trade, sell, transfer and make tithe to
any part or all of said Estate.
I further will and desire should any of my children be minors at my death my executors shall provide
for their schooling and at a proper age they shall be furnished by said executors with a good horse and
saddle to be given them over and above an equal distribution of said Estate.
In testimony whereof I have here unto set my name and affixed my seal using a Serall for a seal this
23rd day of May 1868
